Reddit Down or Not Working? How to Fix It

Short answer: If Reddit won't load, the app crashes, or you can't open posts, check redditstatus.com first. When we checked on November 6, 2026, Reddit Status showed All Systems Operational and listed no downtime that day. If status is green, update the app (or use mobile web if your OS is below Reddit's minimum), then restart and switch networks.

Is Reddit down?

Before you change settings, check Reddit Status. If there's an outage, wait it out.

How to fix it: step by step

1. Check whether Reddit is down for everyone: open redditstatus.com. When we checked on November 6, 2026, it showed All Systems Operational, with no downtime listed under Past Incidents for that day.
2. Update the Reddit app, or use Reddit in a mobile browser if your phone OS is below Reddit's minimum. Reddit Help (updated June 18, 2026) says Android needs OS 10 or later and Reddit app version 2026.10 or later; iOS needs iOS 16 or later and Reddit app version 2025.33 or later.
3. Force close Reddit and restart your phone.
4. Switch between Wi-Fi and cellular data to rule out a weak connection.
5. Log out of Reddit and log back in.
6. On Android, clear the Reddit app cache (Settings > Apps > Reddit > Storage > Clear cache), or uninstall and reinstall the app. Your posts and profile stay on Reddit's servers; you just sign in again.
7. Still broken? Report it through Reddit Help or ask in r/help. Reddit also keeps a Bugs and problems section in its help center.
